Navarra Spatial Statistics

One of the main lines of work of the group focuses on the study and proposal of different disease mapping techniques that allow to geographically represent relative risks and incidence/mortality rates/ of one or several diseases, both communicable and non-communicable, to elucidate their spatial evolution over time and to detail whether the evolution is the same or different by gender, age groups and birth cohorts.

Specific lines of research carried out by the members of the node (see poster) include:

• Spatial and spatio-temporal modeling (univariate and multivariate) in the field of disease mapping representation.
• Disease prediction models using methods for aggregate data analysis and/or geostatistics.
• Scalable Bayesian models for large data volumes.
• Study of spatial, temporal and spatio-temporal confounding induced in spatio-temporal and/or multivariate models after incorporation of covariates of interest.
• Study of machine learning techniques to cope with Big Data problems in the field of disease mapping representation.
