Publishing code and data, employing version control systems, developing open statistical software, documenting analyses in a reproducible manner and using collaborative platforms are key practices to ensure traceability, integrity and reusability of the knowledge generated. Commitment to these practices not only improves the quality of biostatistical work, but also increases its scientific impact and social value. In this context, software occupies a central place, as it is the main way to implement, document and communicate the statistical analyses on which scientific conclusions are based. With the aim of offering a stable space for interaction for those who wish to promote these practices in the field of biostatistics, BIOSTATNET has created the Open Science and Software Thematic Group. This group was created with the aim of fostering the exchange of knowledge, promoting specialized training, generating shared resources and facilitating the implementation of joint initiatives. It also aims to make the work of the Network in this area more visible and to accompany especially those who are starting their research career.
