En este nuevo espacio digital se ha priorizado el espacio destinado a difusión y divulgación de sus actividades y resultados de la Red. La web cuenta también con un apartado específico para difusión de contratos y becas de investigación, así como de software estadístico. JOB: Tenure track assistant professor in Statistics
The Department of Environmental Sciences, Informatics and Statistics of the Ca'Foscari University of Venice has opened a call for a tenure track assistant professor ("ricercatore a tempo determinato livello B"). This is a three-years position with subsequent promotion to Associate Professor provided the necessary scientific habilitation ("abilitazione scientifica") according to the Italian law. Candidates are expected to hold a Ph.D. possibly in Statistics and to have a good record of publications in international peer-reviewed journals with significant content in Statistics. The successful candidate will play an active role in the research group in Statistics for developing new data science techniques with special focus on environmental modeling. The typical teaching load is 90 hours of lectures per year. Most of the Master and PhD courses are in English. Summer school on Advanced Bayesian Methods
24-28 September, 2018. Leuven (Belgium) The Interuniversity Institute for Biostatistics and statistical Bioinformatics organizes for the second time a summer school on Bayesian methods. During one week, two courses will be taught on specific topics in Bayesian methodology. The focus is on Bayesian methods that are relevant for the applied statistician. Special attention will be devoted to novel statistical methodology. In the second edition of the summerschool. 9th International Workshop on Simulation
9th International Workshop on Simulation June 25-29, 2018, Barcelona, Spain The Department of Statistics and Operation Research of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in collaboration with the Statistics Department of the Barcelona University, the Department of Statistical Modelling of Saint Petersburg State University and INFORMS Simulation Society are sponsoring the 9th International Workshop on Simulation. This international conference is devoted to statistical techniques in stochastic simulation, data collection and analysis of scientific experiments and studies representing broad areas of interest. Selected papers from the workshop (of size 8-15 pages) will be published in special issues of two journals: "Statistical Papers" and "Communication in Statistics". A book of abstracts will be available at the beginning of the Conference. There will be also interesting cultural programs and excursions. More info here
